A Friendship Forged in Words: Celebrating Ember Mae and the Veronica Swift Mysteries
In my last post, I marveled at the way writing has brought incredible friends into my life from all over the world. Today, I want to shine a spotlight on one of those extraordinary people: Ember Mae, the talented author of the Veronica Swift cozy mystery series, and someone I am proud to call my best friend.
Ember and I first connected through a writing group, just two strangers bonding over our shared love of crafting stories. But what began as a simple online interaction quickly blossomed into a friendship that has enriched my life in countless ways. Despite the miles between her home in Guam and my own in Texas, Ember has become a true kindred spirit.
Through our regular Zoom chats, we share the joys and challenges of the writing life, swap tales of our day-to-day adventures, and even dive into Bible study together. Ember's warmth, humor, and unwavering support have been a beacon of light in my world. Her generosity of spirit knows no bounds, as evidenced by the hours she's spent helping me navigate my website woes and faux pas and cheering me on through various projects.
But Ember isn't just a wonderful friend; she's also a gifted storyteller. Her Veronica Swift series, set against the lush backdrop of a resort and spa, follows the adventures of a plucky shoemaker with a nose for solving murders. With her trusty West Terrier, Doodle, by her side, Veronica juggles her shoemaking dreams with a knack for stumbling over bodies and unraveling mysteries.
Ember's books are the perfect blend of cozy charm, clever plotlines, and characters that feel like old friends. Reading them is like taking a vacation in the pages, and I couldn't recommend them more highly. If you're looking for a delightful escape, be sure to check out the Veronica Swift series.
Her beautiful spirit matches Ember's talent. Supported by her loving family (and her delightful menagerie of dogs, cats, and chickens!), Ember radiates joy and positivity. Her friendship has been an incredible gift, and I know that one day, we'll bridge the distance and I'll get to hug her neck and thank her in person for all she's brought to my life.
In the meantime, I hope you'll join me in supporting this wonderful author and even more wonderful human. Grab a Veronica Swift mystery, cozy up with a cup of sweet tea, and join me in raising a toast to the incredible Ember Mae!
